#391 Mountain Lake and Microcosmos
This week I did two things for the very first time. First new thing: I visited Mountain Lake Biological Station, the beautiful field research station for the University of Virginia Biology Department. The station's perched at around 4000' in the cool Blue Ridge Mountains. I gave my camera's "macro" button a good workout on this dripping orange fungus.

ReplyDeleteI just made the mistake of clicking on the orange fungus and it enlarged on my screen - and scared me half to death! It wouldn't have been so bad but I was also eating my lunch at the time.

ReplyDeleteKelly and I saw "Microcosmos" in Iraklion, Crete, after dinner with some of my father's colleagues from the Biological Sciences Dept. at the University of Crete. I remember actually being *embarrassed* to be watching the close-up snail mating scene with my dad in the room...!
