This particular Mother's Day card must have been made by me during my horse phase. The card's inside left page shows my incredible knowledge of horses (probably copied from the World Book) and my amazing ability to scissor. The card's inside right page highlights my early poetry skills.
About the time I created this card, I liked to ride our pony Shortstop at our home in Fairfax, VA.
And here's my lovely mom long before she ever thought about me or my silly Mother's Day cards.

ReplyDeleteSweet journal entry, Mary. I am impressed with your knowledge of horses and your expert scissoring. I can only imagine your excitement on covering the scissor unit while obtaining your library science degree (got this one nailed. or, this will be cut and dry. or, i'm cut out for this requirement!) It was most likely akin to my own excitement when I learned that during field day activities in grade school, we were to hippity hop 50 yards in the school parking lot. I was elated! All those years of hippityhopping in our basement finally paid off!!! Won the blue ribbon. A proud day.
