In addition to the gardens of Suzhou, we enjoy a cruise on the Grand Canal and a walk up Tiger Hill.
China's Grand Canal is the longest canal in the world. Completed in the 6th century, the canal is more than 1,000 miles long stretching from Beijing in the north to Hangzhou, south of Shanghai.
At Tiger Hill, we admire the sword-testing rock, the canal, the flower balls, and the Yunyan Pagoda, a seven-story pagoda that has been leaning since before the Tower of Pisa.
Yours in admiring the Venice of the East,
Mary
You'll have to explain the sword testing rock!! Flower balls was descriptive enough...
